Fourteen staves — one oboe, horn, trumpet, trombone, timpani, drum set, piano and five-part strings — carry the whole arc, so an ensemble of twenty-five to thirty can deliver the Dion/Bocelli sound without a full symphonic complement. There is no flute, clarinet or bassoon: the oboe takes the solo woodwind colour and the piano anchors the harmony, exactly as on the record.
