You receive a complete, performance-ready package: the full conductor’s score (six A4 pages) and every individual part — flute, oboe, clarinet I (doubling oboe), clarinet II in B flat, bassoon, horn in F, piano, violins I and II, viola, violoncello and contrabass — plus the SATB choral score and the two soprano solo parts. Everything is delivered as high-resolution PDF files optimized for both screen reading and professional printing.

Eighteen staves in total: five woodwind lines, one horn, keyboard, five-part strings, SATB choir and two soprano soloists. There is no percussion and no trumpet or trombone in this arrangement — the weight comes from the strings and the choir, which is how the movement is meant to breathe. The keyboard part is written for piano; in a resonant church many directors play it on the organ instead, and it works beautifully either way.

The score carries two soprano solo staves. In the tradition of the 1985 premiere the upper line is taken by a soprano and the second by a boy treble, but two women, or a soprano and a young soloist from your own choir, work equally well. Both lines want confident, straight-toned singers who can float a high phrase quietly — that, rather than range, is the real demand.

This arrangement is rated Grade 4 — Intermediate to Professional. The orchestral parts require experienced players comfortable with symphonic repertoire. The SATB choral writing is accessible to well-prepared amateur and professional choirs with solid sight-reading skills. The two soprano soloists should be advanced performers.

Your purchase includes the print licence and the licence for performances by the purchasing ensemble. As usual, the public performance itself is reported to the responsible performing-rights society — GEMA in Germany, AKM in Austria, SUISA in Switzerland (ASCAP/BMI/PRS elsewhere) — by the organiser or ensemble.
